In Šiauliai in unknown Lithuania with Erasmus +
At the beginning it was a leap into the unknown. When this activity and its destination Šiauliai, in Lithuania, were proposed to us, we knew exactly what part of Europe it was in, but nothing about the country and its culture. So we set off not knowing exactly what we would find once we reached our destination. We arrived in the capital, Vilnius, a modern city and above all rich in history and full of life, which we visited during the first few days and marveled at its beauty. Subsequently we got into the heart of the Erasmus project You’R Nature You’R Future during which we also participated in many activities: from creative workshops, in some of which we worked with typical local amber or a theater and dance lesson to get to know each other better and gain confidence. Very impressive was the visit to the largest Lithuanian landfill and the waste-to-energy plant where we saw mountains of waste stretching out, and above all became aware of the large amount of waste we produce and how it is disposed of or stored. On other occasions we discussed and reflected on the environmental issue, the central theme of the project. It was an unforgettable experience that introduced me to a reality very different from mine and which gave me international friendships.

A Šiauliai nell’ignota Lituania con Erasmus +
All’inizio è stato un salto nell’ignoto. Quando ci è stato proposta quest’attività e la sua destinazione Šiauliai, in Lituania, sapevamo giusto in che parte dell’Europa si trovasse, ma niente del paese e della sua cultura. Perciò siamo partiti non sapendo bene cosa avremmo trovato una volta giunti a destinazione. Siamo arrivati nella capitale, Vilnius, una città moderna e soprattutto ricca di storia e piena di vita, che abbiamo visitato durante le prime giornate e ci siamo meravigliate della sua bellezza. Successivamente siamo entrati nel vivo del progetto Erasmus You’R Nature You’R Future nel corso del quale abbiamo anche partecipato a tantissime attività: dai laboratori creativi, in alcuni dei quali abbiamo lavorato l’ambra tipica del posto o una lezione di teatro e danza per conoscerci meglio tra di noi e prendere confidenza. Molto impressionante poi è stata la visita alla più grande discarica lituana e al termovalorizzatore dove abbiamo visto montagne di rifiuti che si estendevano, e soprattutto prendere consapevolezza del gran numero di rifiuti che produciamo e come essi vengono smaltiti o stoccati. In altre occasioni abbiamo discusso e riflettuto riguardo la questione ambientale, tema centrale del progetto. E’ stata un’esperienza indimenticabile che mi ha fatto conoscere una realtà molto diversa dalla mia e che mi ha regalato delle amicizie internazionali.

Study and friendships in Lithuania with Erasmus+
The day we received the wonderful news that we would be leaving for this experience in Lithuania, we four participants felt truly lucky. The following days were a mix of expectations and conflicting thoughts. None of us can deny the happiness we felt, but not even the anxieties and fears that accompanied it. Being together with people we knew helps us to calm down and enjoy the first times, such as taking a plane or being away from home and our comforts. The first day of this week we spent in Vilnius, the capital, where we took time to visit the city and its attractions, such as the “Dominican Church of the Holy Spirit” or Trakai Castle. Furthermore, it is right here where we met the guys who would host us in their homes. After this first trip to Vilnius we moved to Siauliai where we would stay for the remaining week. And once it was evening it was time to split up and go home with our new Lithuanian friends. The week we experienced was full of commitments and creative activities that allowed us to spend good time in company and therefore have fun. Some of the activities carried out were, for example, creating a map of our own country with waste materials that would probably have been thrown away if we hadn’t used them. Or we witnessed the process of waste disposal in the Šratc landfill, Toksika, one of the most modern and organized in Europe.
It was impressive to see how much waste we produce and it was interesting but also sad to understand what needs to be done to minimize the damage we cause. We discovered the beauty of being together and strengthened existing friendships. It was exciting to meet people who were different from us, with different habits and lifestyles. What will remain imprinted in our memories is helping each other in apparently difficult situations, trying to overcome those difficulties that alone would have seemed enormous, but which with the right company helped us grow and take responsibility. This trip was a sweet challenge which, despite putting us to the test, made us have fun and become aware of the cultural differences that make each country unique.

Studio e amicizie in Lituania con Erasmus+
Il giorno in cui abbiamo ricevuto la bellissima notizia che saremmo partiti per questa esperienza in Lituania, noi quattro partecipanti ci siamo sentite davvero fortunate. I giorni seguenti sono stati un mix di aspettative e pensieri contrastanti. Nessuno di noi può negare la felicità provata, ma nemmeno le ansie le paure che l’accompagnavano. L’essere insieme a persone che conoscevamo ci aiutate a tranquillizzarci è a goderci le prime volte, quali ad esempio il prendere un aereo o le essere lontani da casa e dei propri comfort. La prima giornata di questa settimana l’abbiamo passata a Vilnius, la capitale, dove ci siamo presi del tempo per visitare la città e le sue attrazioni, come per esempio la “Dominican Church of the Holy Spirit” o il Castello di Trakai. Inoltre è proprio qui dove abbiamo conosciuto i ragazzi che ci avrebbero ospitato nelle loro case. Dopo questa prima gita a Vilnius ci siamo spostati a Siauliai dove avremmo soggiornato per la restante settimana. E una volta sera è stato il momento di dividersi e di andare a casa con le nostre nuove amiche lituane. La settimana che abbiamo vissuto è stata piena di impegni e attività creative che ci hanno permesso di passare del buon tempo in compagnia e dunque di divertirci. Alcune delle attività svolte sono state per esempio creare la cartina del proprio paese con materiali di scarto e che probabilmente sarebbero stati buttati via se non li avessimo usati. Oppure abbiamo assistito al processo di smaltimento dei rifiuti nella discarica di Šratc, Toksika, una delle più moderne e organizzate in Europa.
È stato impressionante vedere quanti rifiuti produciamo ed è stato interessante ma anche triste capire ciò che è necessario fare per ridurre al minimo i danni che noi causiamo. Abbiamo scoperto la bellezza dello stare insieme e rafforzato amicizie già esistenti. È stato emozionante conoscere persone diverse da noi, con abitudini e stili di vita differenti. Ciò che rimarrà impresso nelle nostre memorie è l’aiutarsi in situazioni apparentemente difficili cercando di superare quelle difficoltà che da soli sarebbero sembrate enormi, ma che con la giusta compagnia ci hanno aiutato a crescere e responsabilizzarci. Questo viaggio è stato una dolce sfida che nonostante ci abbia messo alla prova ci ha fatto divertire e prendere consapevolezza delle differenze culturali che rendono ogni paese unico.

Between school and free time in Šiauliai
This year I was lucky enough to participate in the mobility foreseen by the Erasmus project The future in our hands coordinated by the Raffaello high school which took place in Between school and free time in Šiauliai in Lithuania, a very underrated destination that deserves much more attention. We had the cultural experience of attending a history lesson in the school that hosted us for a week Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija with which we undertook the project. The student-professor relationship is very different, there is not much interaction, but on the other hand there is much more active work in class and less individual study at home. The school is very spacious, there are classrooms for each subject: history, geography, mathematics, physics, theater and even sculpture! The walls are decorated with drawings, paintings and posters, and in each classroom there is a tap, quite bizarre for us Italians! Lessons generally last until late in the day, in fact the school also has a canteen, where students can have lunch without spending too much, for a meal the costs are around two or a maximum of three euros, in order to make it accessible to everyone.
Once the school day is over, the kids generally meet at the bowling alley, go shopping or organize parties at friends’ houses because discos are only accessible after the age of eighteen. In fact, after the day at school, I, my Italian classmates and the two Lithuanian girls who we got to know during our stay, Adrija and Kamile, went together to drink a coffee in the so-called ‘Kaffeine’, or we went for walks in the park or went to the bowling and finally dinner out to eat typical Lithuanian food, for example ‘Cepelinai’, one of the tastiest dishes, are large potato dumplings with a meat or cheese-based filling, served with a sour cream sauce or ‘Saltibarsciai’, or a delicious cold beetroot soup! In the evening when each of us returned home to our respective families, I was hosted by a girl called Aiste, we either rested or went out, very often me, Aiste and the Greek girl named Elena, also a participant in the project, we went for walks and often even went to shopping centers, which stayed open until eleven!
A little fun fact about Lithuania: energy drinks are illegal if you are a minor! Yes I know, the news shocked me too. In conclusion, I recommend everyone to visit Lithuania at least once in their life, I assure you that it will be a memorable experience!

Tra scuola e tempo libero a Šiauliai
Quest’anno ho avuto la fortuna di partecipare alla mobilità prevista dal progetto Erasmus Il futuro nelle nostre mani coordinato dal liceo Raffaello che si è svolta a Tra scuola e tempo libero a Šiauliai in Lituania, meta molto sottovalutata che meriterebbe molta più attenzione. Abbiamo vissuto l’esperienza culturale di assistere ad una lezione di storia nella scuola che ci ha ospitato per una settimana Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija con la quale abbiamo intrapreso il progetto. Il rapporto studente-professore è molto diverso, non c’è molta interazione, ma in compenso c’è molto più lavoro attivo in classe e meno studio individuale a casa. La scuola è molto spaziosa, sono presenti aule per ciascuna materia: storia, geografia, matematica, fisica, teatro e perfino scultura! Le pareti sono decorate con disegni, dipinti e cartelloni, inoltre in ogni classe è presente un rubinetto, abbastanza bizzarro per noi italiani! Le lezioni generalmente si prolungano fino a tarda giornata, infatti la scuola possiede anche una mensa, in cui gli studenti possono pranzare senza spendere troppo, per un pasto i costi si aggirano sui due o massimo tre euro, in modo da renderlo accessibile a tutti.
Terminata la giornata scolastica generalmente i ragazzi si incontrano al bowling, fanno shopping oppure organizzano feste a casa di amici perché le discoteche sono accessibili solo dopo i diciotto anni. Infatti dopo la giornata a scuola io le mie compagne italiane e le due ragazze lituane che abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere durante il soggiorno Adrija e Kamile, andavamo insieme a bere un caffè nelle così dette ‘Kaffeine’, oppure facevamo passeggiate al parco o andavamo al bowling e infine a cena fuori a mangiare cibi tipici lituani, esempio il ‘Cepelinai’, uno dei piatti più gustosi, sono dei grandi gnocchi di patate con un ripieno a base di carne o formaggio, serviti insieme a una salsa di panna acida oppure la ‘Saltibarsciai’, ovvero una zuppa fredda di barbabietole squisita!La sera quando ognuno di noi ritornava a casa nella famiglia rispettiva, io ero ospitata da una ragazza di nome Aiste, o ci si riposava oppure si usciva, molto spesso io, Aiste e la ragazza greca di nome Elena anche lei partecipante del progetto, facevamo passeggiate e spesso si andava anche nei centri commerciali, i quali rimanevano aperti fino alle undici!
Un piccolo fun fact sulla Lithuania: le bevande energetiche sono illegali se si è minorenni! Sì lo so, la notizia ha sconvolto anche me. In conclusione, consiglio a tutti di visitare la Lituania almeno un volta nella vita, vi assicuro che sarà un esperienza memorabile!

“Mom, I’m going on Erasmus!”

It sounds a bit strange actually. At linguistic high school you would expect to go on Erasmus to France or Ireland, Spain or Germany. But no!
Lithuania is a country that doesn’t even exist in the Europe conceived in the minds of us Italians. And actually I was a little skeptical at first too. But then I had to change my mind.
I took part together with three of my classmates in the first mobility of the Erasmus + project The future in our hands which took place in Lithuania. I think it was one of the best experiences of my life. The first two days we visited the capital, Vilnius, and I fell in love with this city. It’s a quiet place, with a wonderful atmosphere and an open mind. It is characterized by perfectly preserved Baroque architecture buildings and numerous green spaces where you can relax.
Then in the remaining days we were hosted by the families of the students of the Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija high school , from the city of Šiauliai, partners of our project which in English has the title You’R Nature You’R Future . This was also a very nice city, smaller but very modern. However, there was a strong contrast between the areas inhabited by wealthy people, with simple but well-kept houses, and the areas of the less well-off, residing in sterile buildings, typical of Soviet architecture.
But the thing that struck me the most were the people. They were all good-looking, with “Nordic” features: light hair and eyes, fine features. Most of them were cold, detached and very rigorous, which to us Italians, accustomed to confusion and always very friendly ways of doing things, made Lithuania seem like another world. But I was very lucky: the people who hosted me were the kindest, most affectionate and helpful people I have ever met, real angels. They did everything to make sure we didn’t miss anything. I will never forget Kamilė, the girl who hosted us. We have all found precious friends in her and Adrija and we hope to be able to meet them again when they come here to Urbino in 2025.
All in all, despite the cultural differences between the two countries, I believe that this experience has contributed to making me grow, also changing my vision of the world a little and I hope that I will have the opportunity to return to Lithuania one day.

L’accogliente Lituania

Suona un po’ strano in effetti. Al liceo linguistico ci si aspetterebbe di andare in Erasmus in Francia o in Irlanda, in Spagna o in Germania. E invece no!
La Lituania è un paese che nell’Europa concepita nella mente di noi italiani nemmeno esiste. E in realtà anche io ero un po’ scettica all’inizio. Ma poi mi sono dovuta ricredere.
Ho preso parte insieme a tre mie compagne di classe alla prima mobilità del progetto Erasmus + Il futuro nelle nostre mani e che si è svolta in Lituania. Credo che sia stata una delle esperienze migliori della mia vita. I primi due giorni abbiamo visitato la capitale, Vilnius, e mi sono innamorata di questa città. È un luogo tranquillo, dall’atmosfera meravigliosa e dalla mentalità aperta. É caratterizzata da edifici di architettura barocca perfettamente conservati e da numerosi spazi verdi dove rilassarsi.
Poi nei giorni restanti siamo stati ospitati dalle famiglie degli studenti del liceo Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija, della città di Šiauliai, partner del nostro progetto che in inglese ha come titolo You’R Nature You’R Future. Anche questa era una città molto carina, più piccola ma molto moderna. C’era però un forte contrasto fra le zone abitate da persone benestanti, con case dall’aria semplice ma molto curata, e le zone dei meno abbienti, residenti in edifici sterili, tipici dell’architettura sovietica.
Ma la cosa che mi ha colpito di più sono le persone. Erano tutti quanti di bell’aspetto, dai tratti “nordici”: capelli e occhi chiari, lineamenti fini. La maggior parte di loro erano freddi, distaccati e molto rigorosi, cosa che a noi italiani, abituati alla confusione e a dei modi di fare sempre molto amichevoli, faceva sembrare la Lituania un altro mondo. Ma io sono stata molto fortunata: le persone che mi ospitavano sono le persone più gentili, affettuose e disponibili che io abbia mai conosciuto, dei veri e propri angeli. Hanno fatto di tutto per non farci mancare niente. Non dimenticherò mai Kamilė, la ragazza che ci ha ospitate. Abbiamo tutte quante trovato in lei e in Adrija delle amiche preziose e speriamo di poterle rincontrare quando verranno qui in Urbino nel 2025.
Tutto sommato, nonostante le differenze culturali fra i due paesi, credo che quest’esperienza abbia contribuito a farmi crescere, cambiando anche un po’ la mia visione del mondo e spero che avrò l’occasione di tornare in Lituania un giorno.

Through the Erasmus project in Lithuania, we visited many tourist attractions and cities in our country, such as Vilnius, Trakai, the Hill of Crosses, and the Botanical Garden. These places reminded me of the beauty of our country. My guest was a girl from Romania named Miruna. At first, it was difficult to bond, but as time went on, we became closer. Myself, Skaiva, Miruna, and Lavinia spent time together at my home. We made pancakes, went to stores, and she got to know my family. This project introduced me to the culture of other countries and brought me closer to people with whom I am still friends to this day.
Per Erasmus projektą Lietuvoje aplankėmė daug mūsų šalies lankytinų vietų, miestų, kaip: Vilnių, Trakus, Kryžiaus kalną, Botanikos sodą. Šios vietos primenė man kokia yra graži mūsų šalis. Mano svečias buvo mergina iš Rumunijos vardu Miruna. Iš pradžių buvo sunkoka suartėti, bet laikui einant, mes suartėjom. Aš, Skaiva, Miruna ir Lavinia kartu praleidome laiką mano namuose. Mes kepėme blynus, užėjome į parduotuves, jos susipažino su mano šeima. Šis projektas supažindino mane su kitų šalių kultūra ir suartino mane su žmonėmis, su kuriais iki šiol esu draugais.

I am very glad that I decided to participate in this Erasmus program. I experienced many new things and met new people. The whole week was exhausting because I had to think about what to feed, where to take for an activity, what to do to make it more fun and interesting for the visitors, but everything was worth it in the end. I didn’t think I would become attached to my new sisters from the program. I think it would be beneficial for everyone to experience living with someone from another country at least once in their life. You get to know the person’s culture, food, way of life, and other things. At the very beginning, when the foreigners arrived at our place, it was a bit awkward and scary, but we quickly understood each other, got along well, and had plenty to talk about. I would really like to turn back time and do it all over again…
Labai džiaugiuosi nusprendusi dalyvauti šioje Erasmus programoje. Patyriau labai daug naujų patirčių, susipažinau su naujais žmonėmis. Visa savaitė buvo varginanti, nes turėjau galvoti ką duoti valgyt, į kokį užsiėmimą nuvesti, ką nuveikti, kad būtų smagiau ir įdomiau atvykusiems, bet viskas pabaigoje buvo verta. Negalvojau, kad prisirišiu prie savo naujų seserų iš programos. Manau, kad kiekvienam žmogui bent vieną kartą gyvenime būtų naudinga patirti ką reiškia gyventi pas kažką kitą iš kitos šalies. Tu susipažįsti su to žmogaus kultūra, maistu, gyvenimo būdu, bei kitais dalykais. Pačioje pradžioje, kai atvyko pas mus užsienietės buvo truputėlį nejauku ir baisu, bet labai greitai apsipratome, gerai sutarėme, turėjome apie ką kalbėti. Tikrai norėčiau atsukti laiką ir vėl viską pakartoti…

I am so happy that I decided to participate in the Erasmus program! It sounds like you gained a lot of experience in communication and made connections with people from different countries. The week was indeed intense, as you had to think about taking care of someone: what food to provide, what activities to do, where to go so that they would enjoy and have a good time. But that week was truly worth it. You didn’t think it would pass so quickly, and it felt like it just started, but it was already ending. I believe that this experience is priceless and beneficial for everyone. Each person should experience what it truly means to live in another country, in a different culture with different traditions. In the first few days, it might have been challenging and uncomfortable, but soon you adapted and found a common language. In the end, you wished that the week could have been longer.
Gerai padariau, jog nusprendžiau dalyvauti Erasmus programoje, nes įgijau daug patirties bendraujant, susipažinau su kitataučiais. Ta savaitė buvo išties įtempta, nes turėjau galvoti kaip pasirūpinti žmogumi: kokį maistą duoti, ką veikti, kur nusivesti, kad jam patiktų ir būtų smagu. Bet ta savaitė iš ties buvo to verta. Negalvojau, kad ta savaitė pralėks kaip vėjas, atrodė katik prasidėjo, o jau baigiasi. Aš manyčiau, jog ši patirtis yra neįkainojama ir naudinga kiekvienam žmogui, kiekvienas turėtų patirti ką iš tikrųjų reiškia gyventi kitoje šalyje, kitoje kultūroje su kitokiomis tradicijomis. Pirmosiomis dienomis buvo gana sunku ir nejauku, bet netrukus pripratau ir radome bendrą kalbą. Pabaigoje norėjosi, kad ta savaitė būtų buvusi ilgesnė.
Greece
As part of the Erasmus+ program, our school visited Lithuania during the week from April 29 to May 6.
In Lithuania, in collaboration with the project partner school Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija in the city of Siauliai, we enriched solidarity and responsibility towards others. The environment and the future for the next generations were strengthened. We all realized how schools must guide practices of solidarity, awareness, respect for the rules for the common values.
The 5th Lyceum of Volos was represented by the students Alexiou Athina, Apostolaki Athanasia, Katsamaki Elena and Fasoulidi Eftychia, accompanied by Mrs Papanikolaou Eleni, coordinator of the project in our school and Tamia Eleni, member of the pedagogical team and school vice headmaster. Students and teachers of all 5 participating partner countries actively participated in a series of activities related to biodiversity, natural resource management and proposing sustainable solutions to the environmental problem. you ’R Nature, you ’R Future.
Students and teachers participated in creative workshops with clay and amber as raw materials. They made the maps of their countries from recyclable materials. They presented the transformations of Nature.
On May Day the organizers gave us a tour of the capital of Lithuania Vilnius and Trakai.
A great part of the experience of an ERASMUS+ project is always the cultural interaction and the exchange of experiences both on the part of the professors, but much more on the part of the students who experienced the hospitality of the families of the students who hosted them.
The next host country of the project in October 2023 is Greece, the 5th GEL Volos, with a special topic of transportation in the past and now, in search of possibilities and practices friendly to the environment and in search of solutions that will contribute to a sustainable future.
Δράσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν στη Λιθουανία (Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija) της πόλης Σιαουλιάι) Στα πλαίσια του προγράμματος Erasmus+ το σχολείο μας επισκέφθηκε την Λιθουανία την εβδομάδα από 29 Απριλίου έως 6 Μαΐου.
Στην Λιθουανία σε συνεργασία όλων με το σχολείο εταίρος του προγράμματος Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio gimnazija της πόλης Σιαουλιάι, ενισχύθηκε η ενσυναίσθηση η αλληλεγγύη και υπευθυνότητα απέναντι στους άλλους, στο περιβάλλον και στο μέλλον για τις επόμενες γενιές.
Tα σχολεία πρέπει να καθοδηγούν σε πρακτικές αλληλεγγύης, ευαισθητοποίησης, σεβασμού στους κανόνες για το κοινό καλό .
Το 5ο Λύκειο Βόλου εκπροσώπησαν οι μαθήτριες Αλεξίου Αθηνά, Αποστολάκη Αθανασία, Κατσαμάκη Έλενα και Φασουλίδη Ευτυχία, συνοδευόμενες από τις κυρίες Παπανικολάου Ελένη, υπεύθυνη του προγράμματος, και Ταμία Ελένη , μέλος της παιδαγωγικής ομάδας.
Μαθητές και καθηγητές και των 5 συμμετεχoυσών εταίρων χωρών έλαβαν μέρος ενεργά σε μια σειρά δραστηριοτήτων σχετικών με την βιοποικιλότητα, τη διαχείριση φυσικών πόρων και την πρόταση βιώσιμων λύσεων στο περιβαλλοντικό πρόβλημα.
Μαθητές και καθηγητές συμμετείχαν σε δημιουργικά εργαστήρια με πρώτες ύλες τον πηλό και το κεχριμπάρι. Από ανακυκλώσιμα υλικά κατασκεύασαν τους χάρτες των χωρών τους . Μέσα από το θέατρο παρουσίασαν τις μεταμορφώσεις της Φύσης.
Την πρωτομαγιά οι διοργανωτές μας ταξίδεψαν και μας ξενάγησαν στην πρωτεύουσα της Λιθουανίας Βίλνιους και στο Τρακάι.
Σπουδαίο πάντα τμήμα της εμπειρίας ενός προγράμματος ERASMUS+ η πολιτισμική αλληλεπίδραση και η ανταλλαγή εμπειριών τόσο από την πλευρά των καθηγητών, μα πολύ περισσότερο από την πλευρά των μαθητών που βίωσαν την φιλοξενία των οικογενειών των μαθητών του προγράμματος που τα φιλοξένησαν.

The Lithuanian adventure will be an unforgettable moment forever because it was my first time abroad and it was amazing. I made a lot of friends and I still talk to them because they are very sympathetic and nice people. There is only one negative aspect about Lithuania and that is that it is a very cold country, especially freezing for people from the south. The capital city was very beautiful, I would like to live there. To sum up, it was a wonderful country and I would definitely like to go again.

My first impression of them was good. Because all of the students and their families were there to welcome us with big smiles and hugs. My hostages even bought a coat for me; it was so sweet of them.
On our first day we were still exhausted from the whole day trip on the previous day. In the morning they prepared us delicious breakfasts of their traditions. But I noticed that they don’t do breakfasts like we do, they just do brunch.
When we went to their capital city Vilnius, known as their most crowded city, on our first day, I also noticed that it was not that crowded actually. It was approximately the same as our little city, Elazığ. And I also realised that they love going out too. Because they know their cities like the back of their hands. And they have souvenir shops like everywhere, we just have two or three in our entire city.
On the second day, after the school tour, we talked with them about their educational system. According to them; they can choose which class they want to take, based on their likes, abilities or their dream jobs. And they have only one final exam per year. They can even choose the subject of the exam. It’s pretty perfect compared to ours.
After that and the lunch, every country made a presentation about their school and city. I kinda liked every one of them, everybody did a great job there. And I can tell that I enjoyed all of the workshops. They were amazing to put our creativity into work and create our products. It was really convincing for recycling and creativity. As a somebody who is into art the whole trip was the art for me. The sculptures we saw on the cathedral, literally green which is in the everywhere we could see, the masks that we did, the magnets that we did with amber, the crosses that carved and decorated in lovely shapes, the old buildings and more, they were all an art for me. So they’ve made the best decision with choosing the theme ‘Arts for Nature’.
For the economy, by looking to the prices I saw in one week I noticed that the prices were quite the same to ours. There was just currency differences though. But I can tell that their life conditions are a little up than normal.
And for the food culture, I can say they eat mostly eat kinds of meat, vegetables and greasy things. So their food has mainly lots of protein, oil, carbonhydrate. And it means theyre really nutritious. For me, I really liked their salads, they were the best, I can’t tell the same about the oily foods though. But I liked the others in general.
I also liked programming. I can see how much effort they put in this and I appreciated it. All the activities, places, foods, free times were really fun to me thanks to their well-organised programme.
About the people of Lithuania, they were so considerate with us. If I could tell shortly I’d say that they are confident, punctual, dedicated, conscious and pretty.
And I think that their city is a big proof of recycling profits. Because in their city you can see green everywhere you go. Lots of things they use are recycled. And they have recycle bins everywhere; in their houses, in their gardens, in their schools, even in their streets. I really liked the way they never waste and all of them are aware of this topic.

First of all, I was very pleased with the family that hosted me. They welcomed me very well and introduced their country to me very well. Thank you, Armida and her family.
The excursion programs were very good. We visited many beautiful places. Teachers and students at the school also made us feel welcome.
Briefly, I left Lithuania very happy and satisfied. I’m glad I did not encounter any negative situation.

I think the trip was perfect. Planning was done very well. Likewise the plan was followed very well to the minute and there was no disruption. The activities were also very nice. It gave us the opportunity to try different things. We got to know the country better as we visited not only the city we stayed in but also other cities. The nature of the country was perfect. There were some shortcomings in their culture. The food was good although not as good as Turkish food. Also the part I want to mention was that the kindness of the Italians was very sweet. The family I stayed in took great care of me. It’s been a good week for me with many different experiences.

Impact of the Project
Mobility in Siauliai had a significant impact on the participants, teaching them to make use of limited resources and find creative solutions to reduce waste. This experience also helped to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment and to promote art as a means of awareness. Staying with host families showed how important it is to live in harmony with the people around us, but also how well we can adapt to different social and family environments.
So, art is undoubtedly a powerful tool in efforts to preserve the environment! This project inspired creativity, promoting the idea that every person can contribute to protecting nature (and) through art/recycling.
Impactul Proiectului
Mobilitatea din Siauliai a avut un impact semnificativ asupra participanților, învățându-i să valorifice resurse limitate și să găsească soluții creative pentru a reduce deșeurile. De asemenea, această experiență a contribuit la dezvoltarea unui sentiment de responsabilitate față de mediu și la promovarea artei ca mijloc de conștientizare. Cazarea în familii gazdă a arătat cât de important este să trăim în armonie cu oamenii din jurul nostru, dar și cât de bine ne putem adapta unor medii sociale și familiale diferite.
Așadar, arta este, fără îndoială, o unealtă puternică în eforturile de conservare a mediului înconjurător ! Acest proiect a inspirat creativitatea, promovând ideea că fiecare persoană poate contribui la protejarea naturii (și) prin intermediul artei/reciclării.

I liked the day I visited the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, and the wish I made in front of the cathedral, turning on that stone that said “miracle”, may come true and I have another opportunity to I am involved in European projects. It was an unforgettable experience!
Mi-a plăcut ziua în care am vizitat capitala Lituaniei, Vilnius, iar dorința pe care mi-am pus-o în fața catedralei, rotindu-mă pe acea piatră pe care scria “miracol”, să se împlinească și să mai am ocazia să mă implic în proiecte europene. A fost o experiență de neuitat !

I had many emotions…I admit it! My favorite day was when I learned how perfume is made in the Siauliai Botanical Garden; in the evening I cooked pancakes together with Lavinia, Egita and Skaiva, the girls I lived with during the project!
Am avut multe emoții…recunosc! Ziua mea preferată a fost aceea în care am aflat cum se fabrică parfumul în Grădina Botanică din Siauliai; seara am gătit clătite împreună cu Lavinia, Egita și Skaiva, fetele la care am locuit pe durata proiectului!

What I enjoyed most was creating an art object from pieces of amber and learning dance moves to convey the emotions of nature. I was also impressed by the visit to the Hill of Crosses, a unique place, located in the middle of nature, where crosses of various sizes are enthroned and where it is said that the miracles of nature often come to life.
Cel mai mult mi-a plăcut să creez un obiect de artă din bucăți de chihlimbar și să învăț mișcări de dans care să transmită emoțiile naturii. De asemenea, m-a impresionat vizita Dealului de Cruci, un loc unic, situat în mijlocul naturii, unde tronează cruci de diferite mărimi și în care se spune că miracolele naturii prind viață deseori.

I enjoyed getting involved in all the proposed activities, I discovered my ability to speak in public, I made new friends and I appreciated the innovative ideas through which young Lithuanians contribute to protecting the environment. Siauliai is a green, airy, quiet city, a picture detached from nature.
Mi-a plăcut să mă implic în toate activitățile propuse, mi-am descoperit abilitatea de a vorbi în public, mi-am făcut prieteni noi și am apreciat ideile inovative prin care tinerii lituanieni contribuie la protejarea mediului. Siauliai este un oraș verde, aerisit, liniștit, un tablou desprins din natură.
